This is a guide on how to install OS X 10.5.8 onto your netbook, remember- if you want to use wifi on your hackintosh, you'll need to swap out the internal card with an intel one or one straight from a macbook, which is what I've done (

6) You can take this opportunity to add extra ram (requires totally dismantling the machine). I'd recommend once you've installed the hardware you boot up and test it before you go ahead with installing OS X onto it.
The first thing to do is to download all of the files required:
1. iDeneb 10.5.5 (use your favourite torrent site) [this guide should work on the 10.5.8 combo update]
7. iDenebMacOSx86ComboUpd10.5.8.pkg (use your favourite torrent site)
A. If you're using a USB drive for the install you'll need to mount the image and move it over to the drive, if you're using an external DVD-RW burn the image to the disc using diskutility and reboot.
B. You probably won't see a hard drive to install click Utilities and then Disk Utility. Click "Partition" and set it to 1, then click "Options" and select "GUID Partition Table" then "Apply" once it's formatted close DiskUtility and hit next, click customise and uncheck the AMD patch, you can leave the rest, when I first ran the install, I was following an Acer Aspire 1 tutorial which had me clicking on one of each driver, but that caused it to hang on every reboot. Safemode (-m) didn't work either.
C. So once it's installed you'll get to the welcome screen, choose your keyboard etc and then it'll ask you to either transfer a mac from various sources or skip, what ever you do here, it'll loop back to the beginning of the wizard. This is (I think) caused due to there not being a network driver installed yet.
D. Reboot and hit a key when the countdown appears, then type-s and it enter to get into single user mode and type the following and hit enter again:
#mount -uw /
#passwd
It'll ask you to set a password so set one up, then type the following and hit enter:
#touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
Type the following and hit enter:
exit
E. Reboot.
F. Log into OS X using "root" as the username and the password you just set. If for some reason you are stuck in a reboot loop, reboot the laptop, hit a key during the countdown, type -s for single user mode, hit enter and type the following and hit enter:
cpus=1
G. Once logged in, you'll notice the resolution is pants and the audio controls amongst many other things don't work. Go to Applications and open a folder called iDeneb App. This includes very useful apps including "Kext Helper b7" which installs Kernel files and "OSx86 Tools" which can change the kernel, view PCI Devices and Enable/Disable Quarts GL.
Enable Quarts GL and reboot.
If on the reboot, it gets stuck in a loop again- boot into single user mode and enter cpus=1 again. Then navigate back to the iDeneb App folder and open "EFIStudio" and click "Boot.plist Editor" then under <key>Kernel Flags</key> enter this new line and click Save changes:
<string>cpus=1</string>
Then reboot, it should go straight into OS X now.
H. Now to sort out the resolution. Start Kext Helper b7 from the iDeneb folder, then go to the driverutilitypack folder, kexts folder and video folder. Drag all of the kext files into the Kext Helper window, enter your password and click "EASY INSTALL" Once it's installed run DiskUtility and click "Repair Permissions" this may take a little time but once done reboot and when you log back in, you'll have the resolution of 1024 x 600!
I. To set the audio, you'll need to open the audio folder, run "AzaliaAudio.pkg" and restart. Then run ALC268_Installer1 but before restarting delete the following file:
/System/Library/Extensions/ALCInject.kext
Then run Kext Helper and drag HDAEnabler.kext into the window, enter your password and click "EASY INSTALL" Once that has finished installing, go to DiskUtility and repair permissions.
Then reboot, you should have working audio now.
J. Ethernet, to get this working you'll need to extract ethernet.zip and install RTGNICv2.0.0.pkg. Reboot and there you go.
K. Wifi, you'll need to install IO80211Family.kext using Kext Helper and repair permissions afterwards using DiskUtiliy. Then install AirPortExtremeUpdate2008004.pkg and reboot.
L. One thing that is very problematic is getting the AA1 to sleep/hibernate. I've tried a hand full of work around but have decided it is best to stop it sleeping altogether when the screen is shut, to do this run DoNotSleep.mpkg and reboot.
M. Install iDenebMacOSx86ComboUpd10.5.8.pkg, once it reboots you may have the reboot loop, if so follow the instructions from part F, another thing you may have problems with is the resolution has gone back to 640 x 480. If this is the case, delete the following file and reboot:
System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelGMA950GA.plugin.
Then install AppleIntelGMA950.kext, repair the permissions and reboot.
If at any point the install screws up, best thing to do is to hit any key on the boot countdown, and type -v which will show you all the madness during boot up.
Whatever it stalls at is what's causing your problem.
Then reboot hit any key at the countdown and type -m to log into safemode, if you can do that then undo the last thing you did, which will probably be installing a Kext file.
They are all mostly installed here "System/Library/Extensions/"
Then repair permissions and reboot and hopefully you'll be back to normal.
If safemode doesn't work for you then try to boot as -s and if that doesn't work, then it is quicker to start the install from scratch!
It is really important to follow the install procedure as it is outlined above, let me know if you have any problems or questions.
UPDATE - Uninstalling DoNotSleep.mpkg
Hi All, as promised this is how you remove DoNotSleep.mpkg!!
1. Navigate to /Library/Application Support/ and delete /Insomnia/ folder
2. Navigate to /Lbrary/LaunchDaemons/ and delete com.engelby.donotsleep.plist
3. Navigate to /etc/.cuploader/ and delete donotsleep.sh
4. Reboot!
Now, once you close the lid or select sleep from the Apple menu your Aspire One will reboot! The reason to remove DoNotSleep is to allow you to try the various tricks to make it sleep! So far, I've tried "Deep Sleep", "Smart Sleep" and some Terminal commands but no luck... Let me know if you have any joy!
